Do-it-yourself gains popularity among women
TOKYO, Japan - A member (L) of "DIY Joshibu" (DIY women's club) teaches another member how to apply paint on a wall at a club meeting at a do-it-yourself store in Tokyo's Koto Ward on July 14, 2012. Once considered to be overwhelmingly male retail spaces, do-it-yourself hardware stores have recently witnessed an influx of female customers, with a growing number of Japanese women picking up tools to carry out home improvements themselves.
