Park apologizes for suffering under father's rule
SEOUL, South Korea - South Korean ruling party presidential candidate Park Geun Hye bows during a press conference at her Saenuri Party's headquarters in Seoul on Sept. 24, 2012, in an apology to citizens who suffered under her late father's dictatorial rule in the 1960s and 1970s. The 60-year-old Park is the daughter of Park Chung Hee, a former general, who ruled the nation with an iron fist until he was shot dead by his intelligence chief in 1979.
