U.S. Marines begin operating Osprey aircraft in Okinawa

GINOWAN, Japan - An MV-22 Osprey transport aircraft lands at the U.S. Marine Corps' Futenma Air Station in Ginowan, Okinawa Prefecture, on Oct. 4, 2012, with Okinawa International University seen in the background. The Marine Corps began to operate the Osprey tilt-rotor planes deployed at the Futenma base, located in a densely populated area, amid lingering local opposition to the deployment.
