U.S. military, Okinawa accord on tsunami

Peter Talleri from the U.S. Marine Corps, and Masaharu Noguni, mayor of Chatan, hold a disaster agreement at Camp Zukeran in the prefecture on Nov. 5, 2012. The U.S. Marine Corps in Japan reached agreement with municipalities in Okinawa to open its bases near the sea to local residents if a tsunami were to hit the southern island prefecture.
