Algeria shows hostage crisis site to press
IN AMENAS, Algeria - Journalists report on bullet marks on the wall of a cafe in an accommodation area at a gas facility in In Amenas, eastern Algeria, on Jan. 31, 2013, as the Algerian government showed the site of a recent hostage crisis to the media for the first time since the incident. Islamist militants attacked the facility on Jan. 16 and the crisis ended violently four days later when the Algerian government launched a full-scale assault. Thirty-seven foreign nationals who were held hostage and 29 militants died during the crisis.
