U.S. backs Japan joining TPP trade talks

TOKYO, Japan - Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe answers reporters' questions at his office in Tokyo on April 12, 2013. He said Japan has gained U.S. backing to join the Trans-Pacific Partnership free trade negotiations as the two countries finalized preparatory talks on contentious issues.
