"Battleship Island" in Nagasaki
NAGASAKI, Japan - Photo taken on Oct. 29, 2012, shows posts of a conveyor belt that used to deliver coal on Hashima Island in Nagasaki, southwestern Japan. The island, nicknamed "Gunkanjima" (battleship island), was once prosperous but became uninhabited after the coal mines closed in 1974.
