Two South Korean women who were forced to serve as wartime sex slaves for Japanese soldiers canceled a meeting scheduled with Hashimoto the same day, saying it would be "worthless." Hashimoto has been under fire since saying earlier in the month that the system of wartime sexual servitude was necessary to maintain military discipline.
