Man finds E. Asia's oldest alligator fossil in Shimane

Sanbe, with East Asia's oldest fossil of a giant alligator dating from around 20 million years ago, at the museum in Oda, Shimane Prefecture. In mid-July the same year, Kawano found the fossil of the backbone of a giant alligator estimated to be as large as 7 meters long on Oki Island in the prefecture.
