Amphibious robot for decommissioning Fukushima

CHIBA, Japan - The Chiba Institute of Technology invites journalists on Sept. 25, 2013, to see the Sakura No. 2, an amphibious robot it has developed for possible use in decommissioning the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant, at its campus in Narashino, Chiba Prefecture. The robot is waterproofed to allow it to cope with underground water that has flowed into the reactor buildings at the crippled power plant.
