Japan enters 9th Warm Biz season

TOKYO, Japan - Officials of the Environment Ministry work at the ministry in Tokyo on Nov. 1, 2013, wearing items such as sweaters and stoles, with an official (front) having a ginger drink to warm herself, as the Japanese government began promoting a nationwide "Warm Biz" energy-saving campaign the same day to encourage the use of warm clothing and food with body-heating effects, rather than electric heating, to fend off the autumn and winter cold. During the ninth Warm Biz season until March 31, 2014, the ministry will encourage setting room temperatures at offices and homes across the country at 20 C.
