Mt. Fuji eruption may force 470,000 people to evacuate

A panel set up by Shizuoka and two other prefectures around the 3,776-meter volcano worked out a regional evacuation plan on Feb. 6, 2014, projecting that a violent eruption could force around 470,000 people in the prefectures to evacuate if more than 30 centimeters of ash accumulates on the ground.
