Tomioka Silk Mill endorsed as World Heritage site
TOKYO, Japan - One of the Tomioka Silk Mill's well-preserved automatic silk-reeling machines in Tomioka, Gunma Prefecture, is photographed in October 2013. The silk mill is expected to be given World Cultural Heritage status as a UNESCO advisory panel recently recommended giving the status to the mill, a historic factory building.
