Completion ceremony for Kofukuji's 'Chukondo'
NARA, Japan - A ridgepole raising ceremony for "Chukondo," the Central Golden Hall, at Kofukuji, a Buddhist temple in Nara, is seen being conducted on May 24, 2014. The hall was burnt down seven times before being rebuilt in 1819 in a makeshift fashion. The rebuilding is planned to be completed in 2018.
