People clean Shiretoko coastal areas in Hokkaido

SHIRETOKO, Japan - About 20 people take part in volunteering to clean coastal areas on the tip of Shiretoko Peninsula, eastern Hokkaido, on July 9. UNESCO's World Heritage Committee is expected to recommend adding the Shiretoko Peninsula to the World Heritage List in a meeting in Durban, South Africa, that begins July 10.
