HONG KONG, China - A former gang-member-turned-protester in Mong Kok bows on Nov. 1, 2014, in front of a makeshift shrine to Guan Yu, the patron god of Hong Kong's mafia and police. Protesters built the shrine next to a barricade in Hong Kong, China, to ward off violence.
