China rights advocate's husband assaulted before APEC summit
TOKYO, Japan - File photo taken in Beijing in May 2010 shows renowned Chinese civil rights defender Ni Yulan (R) and her husband, Dong Jiqin. Dong, 62, sustained head and chest injuries after he was assaulted in the early morning on Nov. 10, 2014, allegedly by policemen at their home in the capital hours before China hosted a meeting of Asia-Pacific leaders, the couple have said.
