JR West adopts new safety system for station platforms
OSAKA, Japan - West Japan Railway Co., known as JR West, shows to the press on Dec. 16, 2014, a new platform safety system set up at its Rokkomichi Station in Kobe, Hyogo Prefecture. With the sensor-equipped system, wired barriers are kept low (top photo) but raised to let passenger get off and on (bottom photo) each time a strain stops.
