Lawson to use European potatoes for French fries

TOKYO, Japan - A sample of French fries made of European potatoes in place of U.S. ones in short supply is unveiled by Lawson Inc. on Dec. 19, 2014, ahead of their release next January through its convenience stores. Since European potatoes are smaller, Lawson will slice them in rounds instead of putting them into batons.
