Nitobe plays multiple roles for Japan in pre-WWII era
TOKYO, Japan - Inazo Nitobe (1862-1933), seen in this undated file photo, was a Japanese diplomat credited with the settlement of a territorial dispute between Sweden and Finland over the Swedish-speaking Aland Islands in the Baltic Sea in the early 1920s as undersecretary general of the League of Nations.
