Fukushima evacuees hold doll market to retain tradition
IWAKI, Japan - Red "daruma" dolls, a popular talisman of good luck, of various sizes await customers at the Futaba Daruma Market held in a temporary residential area in Iwaki, Fukushima Prefecture, northeastern Japan, on Jan. 10, 2015. The evacuees from Futaba, forced to flee their homes close to the crippled Fukushima Daiichi atomic power plant following the 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake and ensuing nuclear disaster, organized the event in hopes of maintaining their hometown's tradition.
