Fukushima town accepts storage of contaminated soil

FUKUSHIMA, Japan - Shiro Izawa, mayor of Futaba in Fukushima Prefecture, announces a decision at the town's temporary office in the prefectural city of Iwaki on Jan. 13, 2015, to accept a central government plan to build interim storage facilities in the northeastern Japan town for contaminated soil from cleanup operations under way since the 2011 nuclear disaster.
