ISMAILIA, Egypt - Dredging and drilling work on land and at sea for building a new waterway to expand part of the Suez Canal in northeastern Egypt is shown to the press on Jan. 14, 2015. The 35-kilometer waterway of the 193-km canal, expected to be completed in August, will convert part of the one-way canal into a two-way stretch.

      Upgrading Suez Canal

      ISMAILIA, Egypt - The work is underway in Ismailia, northeastern Egypt, on Nov. 30, 2014, to upgrade the Suez Canal. The double-tracking of the canal's navigational waterway is expected to be completed by August 2015.
