"Ukiyo-e" artist Utamaro's newly found work to be shown
FUKUOKA, July 27 Kyodo - Popular "Ukiyo-e" artist Kitagawa Utamaro's painting of a courtesan drawn solely with black ink in the late 18th century with Utamaro's friend and writer Santo Kyoden's writing on the lives of courtesans is seen in Fukuoka, southwestern Japan, on July 22, 2015. The painting, discovered in April, will be exhibited at the Fukuoka Art Museum from Aug. 8.
