Anti-U.S. base relocation bloc gains majority in Okinawa assembly

NAHA, Japan, June 6 Kyodo - Kyoko Higa (center L) celebrates with supporters after winning a seat in the Okinawa prefectural assembly election on June 5, 2016. Candidates opposed to a plan to relocate a key U.S. military base within Okinawa, including Higa, gained a majority in the election, giving a boost to Okinawa Gov.
