KDDI to put on sale low-cost smartphones

TOKYO, Japan - KDDI Value Enabler Corp., KDDI Corp.'s mobile virtual network operator, unveils on Dec. 11, 2014, low-priced smartphones dubbed "UQ mobile" to be put on sale on Dec. 18. The move marks the first attempt by a major telecom firm to enter the low-priced segment of the Japanese smartphone market on a full scale.
