STORYLINE:
Türkiye has decided to raise the minimum wage by 55 percent from the beginning of 2023, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced on Thursday, as part of efforts to ease the burden of rising living costs on Turkish citizens.
According to the president, the monthly net minimum salary will be 8,506.80 liras (about 455 U.S. dollars) in 2023, marking a 55 percent hike from the level determined in July and a 100 percent increase from January.
