The Baptism Site "Bethany Beyond the Jordan," located on the east bank of the Jordan River, is an archaeological site inscribed on the World Heritage List. Jordan recently launched a plan to develop the Baptism Site in order to enhance the services offered to pilgrims and visitors, boosting religious tourism in Jordan.
