Since 2019, Lebanon has been facing a steep financial crisis, which plunged more than 80 percent of the Lebanese population into poverty. The crisis also forced banks to place restrictions on withdrawals of deposits in Lebanese pounds and U.S. dollars which caused the loss of people's savings.
