Gyalpo Losar Celebration in Nepal
A masked deity perform Cham dance at Sherpa Monastery on the final day of Gyalpo Losar observed by indigenous Sherpa community of Nepal. Running for fortnight, the Sherpa community are celebrating the Losar meaning New Year. Sherpa live along the Northern border of Nepal with Tibet and mainly follow the Tibetan calendar. The Gyalpo Losar also coincides with the Tibetan New Year. As per the Tibetan calendar itâs the 2150 New Year of the Rabbit.
