STORYLINE:
The city of Langfang in north China's Hebei Province saw its first China-Europe freight train leave the station Saturday.
The freight train, carrying 55 40-foot containers, will complete a journey of 7,800 km and arrive at its destination in Moscow 17 days later.
SOUNDBITE (Chinese): YANG WEI, General manager of local e-commerce company
"The freight train will help accelerate the capital turnover speed of our company. The transportation cost of each container will be reduced by around 3,000 yuan (431 U.S. dollars). Our company ships 15 to 20 containers each month, so it will save us about 40,000 to 60,000 yuan (5,752 to 8,628 U.S. dollars)."
