(230305) -- LHASA, March 5, 2023 (Xinhua) -- This photo taken on March 1, 2023 shows black-necked cranes in Lhunzhub County of Lhasa, southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region. Listed as a bird species under national first-class protection, black-necked cranes mainly inhabit plateaus, meadows, marshes, reed swamps, lakeside meadow swamps and river valley swamps at altitudes of 2,500-5,000 meters. Lhunzhub County in Tibet is one of the major wintering habitat of black-necked cranes. The population of black-necked cranes in Tibet has surpassed 10,000, according to a report released last year by the regional department of ecology and environment. (Xinhua/Zhang Rufeng)
