With its unique natural conditions, Tonghua, located in the southeastern part of Jilin Province, is one of the first cities in China to promote skiing. Jinchang Ski Resort, built in 1959, is China's first alpine ski resort. Famous for its long snow season and powder snow, Changbai Mountain in Jilin province has long been an ideal place for skiing. It has become a major destination for ski enthusiasts all over China, thanks to the soaring interest in winter sports fueled by Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics.
