The system is set to operate in Egypt with a length of about 2,000 km, on three lines linking all major Egyptian cities. The Ministry stated that express trains and regional trains of the high-speed electric train network are manufactured inside the Siemens company's factory in Krefeld, Germany. In May 2022, Egypt signed a contract with Siemens Mobility to build about 2,000 km of high-speed rail in the country.
