"The inflation based on Consumer Price Index (CPI) in March 2023 was 5.66 percent," the government data said. "It was 6.44 percent in February." The food inflation also eased to 4.79 percent in March, as against 5.95 percent in February and 7.68 percent in the year-ago period, the data showed. The fall in the rate of retail inflation is attributed mainly to a decline in the rate of rise in prices of essential commodities like vegetables, meat, fish, and oil, among others. Data from MoSPI showed that inflation eased to 5.51 percent
