As part of the voluntary repatriation effort between the Nigerian government and IOM, both parties worked to make it easier for the trapped Nigerians to return. They arrived at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport in Lagos on Tuesday evening. The evacuation effort is the third of its sort in 2023, according to a statement made by Kabiru Musa, charge d'affaires of the Nigerian Mission in Libya. Nearly 500 Nigerians have already been successfully returned from Libya to Nigeria. Musa added that because Libya serves as a stopover for unauthorized immigrants travelling
