The fire sent thick black smoke into the air, visible several kilometers away. The cause of the fire, which broke out around 6:00 a.m. local time, has not been ascertained, as the security officials have yet to comment on the incident. Firefighting units of the Bangladesh Army, Navy and Air Force, along with the Border Guard Bangladesh and Rapid Action Battalion members, reached the spot to assist the fire service.
