Zhao Chunsheng, 52, is a villager from Qianhouzhangzi Village, Houjiazhai Township of Zunhua City. In 2018, he was hired by local cultural protection department as a Great Wall protector. Zhao is responsible for guarding about five kilometers of the Great Wall built in Ming dynasty (1368-1644), including five watch towers and four beacon towers. Every two or three days, he would patrol the Great Wall, clear rubbish and weeds, and arrange fallen bricks. The job is not easy especially in hot summer and freezing winter. But Zhao enjoys his job and feels proud to be able to protect the Great Wall. (Xinhua/Mu Yu)
