Day Of The Charros And The Escaramuzas In Mexico City
A charro and a skirmish pose at the Hipodromo de Las Americas located in Mexico City, on the occasion of the Charro and Skirmish Day, where some exhibitions of these typical costumes, suertes such as the ''floreo de reata'', ''el gallo enterrado'', folkloric dances and thoroughbred horse competitions took place.
Charreria is a discipline that arose from equestrian activities and livestock traditions. It was catalogued as a sport, according to the Agrarian Reform at the beginning of the 20th century in Mexico. The state of Hidalgo is considered the point of origin of charreria.
