Mexico City Authorities Set Up More Temporary Shelters For Migrants

Migrants eat on mats inside a shelter in the San Luis Tlaxialtemalco Forest on May 26, 2023, in Mexico City, installed by the National Institute of Migration and the Secretariat of Inclusion and Social Welfare to expedite a process for dozens of migrants that allows them to stay more time in Mexico due to the difficulties that their compatriots are having to enter the United States. Also, they are waiting for a permit or ''Visitor's Card for Humanitarian Reasons'' that allows them to transit national territory between 45 and 90 days and continue on their way to the border.
