"This is the highest May export value of all time," Turkish Trade Minister Mehmet Mus said in a tweet. Imports increased by 16 percent year on year to 34.3 billion dollars in May, he said in a statement released by the ministry the same day. Last month, foreign trade deficit jumped 19 percent year on year to 12.7 billion dollars, while total energy imports decreased 23.6 percent to reach 5.3 billion dollars, according to the statement.
