A grand celebration was held in Qapqal Xibe Autonomous County of northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region to commemorate the Xibe ethnic group's westward migration.
The Xibe people originated in northeast China.
Every year on the lunar April 18, the Xibe people commemorate the heroic deeds of their ancestors moving westward and guarding border areas.
