The two teams were named Pukaki and Tekapo after the pristine alpine lakes nearby at Mackenzie Plains. The match was officiated by current referee and New Zealand Football National Referee Development Manager, Lindsey Robinson. New Zealand national team members Katie Bowen and Emma Rolston were also on site at the match, teaching skills and drills to the youngsters.
