China's first independently-developed ultra-deepwater gas field, Deep Sea No. 1, has achieved another milestone in its construction.
The laying of a 115-km deep-sea pipeline of the second phase of the project has been completed.
The second phase of the Deep Sea No. 1 is located about 130 km from the city of Sanya in south China's island province of Hainan.
It's able to operate at a maximum depth of around 1,000 meters in the sea.
Once the second phase of the project is put into operation, the Deep Sea No. 1 gas field is expected to provide 4.5 billion cubic meters of gas annually.
