Guelaguetza Festival In Mexico City
The dancers from the Cananea folkloric ballet and other folkloric dance groups from the Iztapalapa municipality in Mexico City are braiding the hair of one of their partners before a dance on the eve of the Guelaguetza Festival of the State of Oaxaca, which represents the highest festival of the state. The Guelaguetza has its origins in pre-Hispanic times, and it is worth mentioning that this festivity began with a ritual that was done to the ancient gods in a place called by the Zapotecs as Daninayaaloani or hill of beautiful view.
