Members of the Cananea folkloric ballet of the Iztapalapa municipality in Mexico City are performing a dance on the eve of the Guelaguetza Festival of the State of Oaxaca, which represents the highest festival of the state. The Guelaguetza has its origins in pre-Hispanic times, and it is worth mentioning that this festivity began with a ritual that was done to the ancient gods in a place called by the Zapotecs as Daninayaaloani or hill of beautiful view.
