Guelaguetza Festival In Mexico City
A member of the Cananea folkloric ballet in Iztapalapa, Mexico City, is putting on make-up before a dance on the eve of the Guelaguetza Festival in Oaxaca State, which represents the state's most important festival. The Guelaguetza has its origins in pre-Hispanic times; it is worth mentioning that this festivity began with a ritual that was done to the ancient gods in a place called Daninayaaloani or "Hill of Beautiful View" by the Zapotecs.
