First Day Rapa Das Bestas 2023 - Sabucedo

Several aloitadores hold the horses inside the curro to cut their manes and deworm them at the Rapa das Bestas 2023, on July 8, 2023, in Sabucedo, Pontevedra, Galicia (Spain). Among all the rapas das bestas that take place in Galicia every summer, the one in Sabucedo stands out for having preserved the purity of tradition and for being considered a Festival of International Tourist Interest. The aloitadores face the horses as equals, without ropes or sticks, to immobilize them and shave their manes. A tradition that explains the way of understanding life in communion with horses.
