"Here I'm in Tel Aviv, the economic center of Israel. On Friday morning, the first light rail, known as the Red Line, began chugging through the metropolis, which would tremendously reduce traffic congestion plaguing people here for many years."
The Red Line connects Tel Aviv with four smaller cities in the metropolitan coastal area -- Bat Yam, Ramat Gan, Bnei Brak, and Petah Tikvah. The 24-km line has 34 stops, ten of them located underground.
It was jointly built and operated by Chinese and Israeli companies.
