Japan's Furukawa ahead of Crew-7 launch

Japanese astronaut Satoshi Furukawa waves on Aug. 26, 2023, as he prepares to board a SpaceX Dragon craft which is scheduled to be launched from NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral, Florida later in the day. Furukawa and three others will fly to the International Space Station on the Crew-7 mission.

The spacecraft carrying Furukawa and two other astronauts -- American Mike Fossum and Sergei Volkov of Russia -- landed at 8:25 a.m., bringing the three back to Earth after they completed a five-and-a-half-month mission aboard the International Space Station.
